VIF Interaction with Foreign Military/Defence Attaches Posted in New Delhi

VIF organised a briefing cum discussion on the topics of ‘India’s Approach to Multilateralism’ and ‘India and J & K Issue on 26 Sept 2022 at the VIF’s premises. There were about 40 military/Defence Attaches along with some other diplomatic staff that participated in the deliberations.

VIF organisned a talk and interaction with Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) Lt. Gen BS Raju, UYSM, AVASM on "Measures Being Adopted to Enhance the Combat Potential of Indian Army including the Agniveers" on 21 July 2022 from 1100 to 1230 hours at the VIF's premises.

Joint VIF-ARTRAC-IIM Indore Capsule on Strategic Leadership and Perspective Planning Programme (23-26 Aug 2022)

VIF in collaboration with Army War College/Army Training Command and IIM Indore organized a three day capsule on “Strategic Leadership and Perspective Planning” programme for recently approved three star generals at the Vivekananda International Foundation, New Delhi from 23 to 26 August 2022. The capsule saw participation of 17 general officers from the Army. This was second such programme organised at the VIF.

This is a story of the experience of one of the most illustrious General Officers of the Indian Army of recent time: the experiences in the Assam Regiment, India-Pakistan 1971 War, India’s North East, Jammu & Kashmir and India’s Tibet Border. The author has written the book encompassing his life experiences based on 44 years in uniform in a profession that he “enjoyed, loved and sometimes found extremely frustrating.” The 396-page book is divided into six parts and 27 chapters.

Talk by Shri Hari Babu Srivastava, DRDO

VIF organized an interaction among DRDO, Indian defense industry and the strategic community on 8th June 2022 for brainstorming on synergizing the Defense R&D ecosystem in India. Mr Hari Babu Srivastava, Director General Technology Management, DRDO apprised the attendees about the "Opportunities, challenges and initiatives related to the Defense R&D ecosystem" from the perspective of the establishment.

Discussion with Chairman DRDO on Self Reliance in Defence Technologies

VIF organised a round table discussion among Dr G Satheesh Reddy, the Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), the strategic community and representatives from the private Indian defence manufacturers and included L&T’s Defence, Tata Advanced Systems, Bharat Forge, Godrej, Mahindra Defence etc.

Strategic Leadership and Perspective Planning Workshop by VIF, Army War College and IIM, Indore

The VIF in collaboration with Army War College/Army Training Command and IIM Indore organised a "Strategic Leadership and Perspective Planning" capsule for three days from 24 to 26 November 2021 at the VIF in physical mode. There were 16 to 18 recently approved Lt. Gens who attended the programme. Over a period of three days, in addition to the military aspects of strategic leadership and perspective planning they were exposed to strategic environment confronting India. Speakers from IIM, Indore dwelled on communication and management issues.
