The last three decades has seen the South and West Asian regions turning into a hot bed of terror activities. Spreading from these regions, and alongside by many other isolated areas across the globe, terrorism today has become the biggest threat to world peace and security.

The Indian armed forces form an important component in projecting the Government of India’s foreign policy on the world stage. India has always projected and cultivated a well-rounded relationship with its neighbours as well as with countries beyond the region, increasingly the armed forces of India have and will in the future contribute to this holistic out reach.

If there was one genuinely ‘unfinished agenda of Partition’ it must be the case of freedom of Balochistan from the brazen colonisation of Pakistan. All through the post-partition decades, the Baloch have protested, confronted and rebelled against Pakistan’s mistreatment of its largest and naturally richest province. There have been as many as four rebellions at such scales that needed deployment of Pakistan’s military machine—with heavy weaponry—to crush these. Presently, there is the fifth Baloch rebellion, and consequently, another bout of Pakistan’s violent repression.
