The edited volume includes multiple perspectives of former diplomats and academicians from India and Nepal. It theorises India-Nepal relations, focussing broadly on economic, security and geopolitical relations. The book was published in 2018, and written with a perspective to highlight the importance of India-Nepal relations in the changing times.

Webinar on India-Nepal Relations: The Way Ahead

On 23rd November 2020 Vivekanand International Foundation India (VIF) and Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) organised a round table discussion on India-Nepal Relations. Director Dr Arvind Gupta chaired the session while Gen Ravi Sawhney delivered the welcome comments. Round Table Discussion on India-Nepal Relations

The Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) organized a Round Table Discussion to discuss India-Nepal relations on 7th November 2019. This everlasting friendship is now also being called a ‘strategic partnership’. This relationship was analysed, considering China factor, wherein India needs to balance out the pressure and leverage to Nepal. While India has been leveraging its neighbours, they have been using China card against them.

Roundtable on ‘Recent Developments in Nepal-China Relations: Implications’

Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) hosted a roundtable on ‘Recent Developments in Nepal-China Relations: Implications’. The key speaker, Mr. Sunil KC, CEO of Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs, Kathmandu, touched upon various aspects of Sino-Nepal relations, its implications for India-Nepal relations and the way forward for the South Asian region. The programme, coming in the backdrop of Nepalese Prime Minister K.P Oli’s recent visit to China, generated high level of interest and was well attended by subject experts from outside of VIF as well.

Interaction with Prof. Vijay Kant Karna, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, on ‘Indo-Nepal Relations under the New Government in Nepal’

An interaction on India-Nepal relations and future prospects was held at the VIF on 27 March, 2018, with Prof. Vijay Kant Karna as the lead speaker. The session began with opening remarks by Mr. Sahay who complemented the people of Nepal, the political parties and the Election Commission of Nepal for smooth conduct of the massive exercise of holding elections at the local, provincial and national levels over an extended period of time, in a peaceful manner that gave a clear mandate to the new democratic order.

Interaction with H.E. Mr. Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Nepal’s Ambassador to India

Ahead of Nepalese President Ms Bidya Devi Bhandari’s scheduled visit to India later this month, the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) hosted H.E. Mr. Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Nepal’s Ambassador to India, for an interaction on ‘India-Nepal Relations: The Way forward’ on 07 April 2017.
