Lt Gen PC Nair has served over two decades in the North-East and retired as the DG Assam Rifles in July 2024. Earlier, he has been the IG Assam Rifles in Nagaland, besides having served in Nagaland in 1996 as well as a Company Commander in Assam Rifles.
