He is a Senior Fellow at the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses. He is also the head of Non-Traditional Security Centre at the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analysis and Managing Editor of the Institute's flagship Journal called Strategic Analysis. Dr. Sinha is a leading scholar and commentator on trans-boundary rivers, climate change and the Arctic. He has co-chaired the Think-20 Task Force on 'Accelerating SDGs: Exploring New Pathways to the 2030 Agenda' during India's G20 Presidency. Dr. Sinha has authored several books which include 'Indus Basin Interrupted: A History of Territory and Politics from Alexander to Nehru (2021), 'Riverine Neighbourhood: Hydro-Politics in South Asia (2016), and 'Climate Change Narratives: Reading the Arctic (2014)' to name a few.
