Dr Joseph N. Sanate is a Research Associate at Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF). He received his doctoral degree from the Center for Canadian, US & Latin American Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His doctoral thesis was “Impact of African Americans on US Foreign Policy, 1990-2016.” His areas of interest are in international relations, particularly India’s relations with regional and global partners in the post-Cold War era. The subjects he mainly focuses on are US domestic politics, the impact of race and ethnicity in America’s domestic and foreign affairs, ethnic diasporas and foreign policymaking, US foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific, and India-US relations (post-Cold War) among others.
