Hypersonic Weapons - An Analysis

On 14 Mar 2019, Moscow's State controlled news agency TASS reported that Russia is getting ready to launch the Zircon Hypersonic Missile from a naval vessel. The Missile will have a capability of flying at Mach 8 (9878.4 Km per hour) and will be simply "unstoppable" by any known missile defence system in the world.

The reason according to President Trump is that the region holds critical strategic importance for the Jewish state to attain regional stability.

It may be recalled that the Indus Water Treaty, 1960 (IWT) between India and Pakistan, brokered by the World bank, allocated three rivers each, known as the Eastern Rivers (Ravi, Beas, Sutlej) to India, and the Western Rivers (Indus, Chenab, Jhelum) to Pakistan. India has the complete right over the waters of the Eastern Rivers and can also use the waters of the Western Rivers for consumptive uses like drinking, agriculture as mentioned in the Treaty.
