The Chinese army has demanded the creation of a 15-20km buffer zone inside India-claimed lines on the st¬rategic Depsang Plains as a pr¬econdition for disengagement, refusing India’s offer of a 3-4km demilitarised strip. The Chinese army is already entrenched 18km inside India-claimed lines and now further demands for a buffer zone of another stretch of 15-20 km, that shows China’s aggressive stance towards the establishment of revised status quo in the LAC in the region. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has successfully completed third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting, held from 22nd to 24th May 2023 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the Press Briefing in New Delhi today on two key deliverables of the 3rd G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting, Shri Arvind Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism said that all G20 members would submit their suggestions in writing by 26th May, 2023 which will form part of the final draft of the roadmap prepared in consultation with UNWTO that will be presented at the 4th Tourism Working Group Meeting to be held in Goa in June followed by the tourism declaration at the Ministerial Meet.
