Admiral V S Shekhawat (Retd)

PVSM, AVSM, Vr C, ADC Admiral Vijai Singh Shekhawat served as the 14th Chief of Naval Staff from September 1993 to September 1996. He was awarded Vir Chakra for gallantry during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. A pioneer of Indian Navy’s submarine arm, Admiral Shekhawat has kept a close tab on global geostragtegic issues, specially those related to Indian Ocean region. One of his current interests is the effect of politics and societal changes on the Indian Armed Forces.
